Welcome To Boutique Dance Studios, Toowoomba.
... From The Principal, Jacqueline Hoole.
Boutique Dance Studios (Toowoomba) is - by design - a smaller, friendlier and more professional dance school. We offer an exceptional level of technical and holistic dance training (you can read all about my teaching credentials here) within the context of a warm, supportive and closely-knit dance community.
I've run dance studios - generally very large ones - for around 25 years now, and I've come to believe that, with the emergence of the modern "dance factory", we're fast losing many of the benefits that theatrical dance training has to offer our children.
You can't, of course, be all things to all people, and, within a large studio, it can be especially difficult to develop the close student-teacher bonds and supportive "community" that students thrive on, and to provide the level of individual interaction that I believe is at the very heart of good tuition.
Indeed, within larger studios, it's common for the majority of students to take most - or all - of their classes under the guidance of junior teachers.

In contrast, our Boutique model allows me, personally, to teach each and every one of our students, to communicate with families more freely and openly, to manage the studios more professionally, and to deliver a higher standard of tuition. And you'll perhaps be surprised to find that our tuition fees are much the same as - or quite possibly less than - you'll pay at other local studios.
Boutique Dance Studios isn't for everyone. We're certainly not just for elite dancers, but do cater to students and their families - be they 3 year old beginners or advanced senior students - who prefer to do things well. I believe that many of the benefits that theatrical dance has to offer (even those not obviously dance-related) derive from this attitude, and from the discipline and self-respect that committed, well-conducted dance training (especially classical ballet) inspires. For this reason, and because classical ballet underpins most of dance's many genres, we ask all students to commit to regular ballet classes in addition to their elective styles.
[More...]In some of our more senior levels, a certain level of technical ability may be required in order to work well with your group, but, as I mentioned, you certainly don't need to be an elite level dancer in order to join Boutique. Because our focus is on nurturing long-term relationships and on building a cohesive "dance family", we don't offer casual or recreational classes, and all enrolments are subject to a personal appointment with myself or your child's teacher. We offer classes for girls and boys from 3 years of age.
If you wish for your child to learn dance within a friendly, intimate and supportive studio which is able to offer an unrivalled standard of technical training, we'd love to hear from you!
